This is another extension which shows country flag for the site in current tab. It also shows city, region and country name in the flag icon hint. Moreover, there are some additional data and links in the popup, refer to screenshot. Extension uses excellent flags of the world icons by famfamfam.com. Extension uses excellent flags of the world icons by famfamfam.com. Icons are ISO 3166 compliant, so let me know if you encounter any issues with some world country flag being displayed wrong.
Extension takes data from free MaxMind City DB. Extension doesn't bundle the database, instead domains are resolved using the service that I run at geo.furman.im. All data is cached locally, so minimal number of additional requests is made.
Cached data is invalidated after storing for 14 days.
Extension was tested on WinXP SP3, Win7 (incl. x64), Linux and Mac OS X.
This product includes GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind, available from http://www.maxmind.com.
